Attendance Logs is a weekly attendance log for Arizona Online Instruction (AOI) schools. Each week a parent or guardian approves the hours their student spent on schoolwork, online and offline, and the school receives a file of approved minutes for its student information system. Edvizion built it inside Blueprint Education, where it has been in use since October 2023.
We are opening a limited pilot for a small number of Arizona online schools.
Screen time is not learning time.
A timer in the learning platform counts minutes logged in. It misses the reading, writing, projects and labs that happen away from the screen. For grades 9–12, Arizona calculates average daily membership from the hours in the daily log, so what the log records matters.
Guardian-approved hours give your school a record of student participation that a real person signed off on, rather than one a timer inferred.
One email a week. One click to approve.
- Your roster comes in automatically. Students and courses are read from your rostering system.
- Guardians approve each week. The email shows the student’s hours by day and course, filled in at your school’s weekly goal. The guardian approves the week as shown, or opens the web app on a phone or computer and corrects any day in 15-minute steps.
- Nothing is reported until it is approved. A week stays at zero until a guardian approves it.
- You set the rules. Your school sets the weekly hours goal, and your attendance team sets the yearly calendar of days off. Short weeks adjust automatically, and emergency closures can be added when they happen.
- Your student system gets a clean file. Approved minutes are delivered as a file your team uploads for state reporting. Nothing is re-keyed.

It works beside the systems you already have.
Attendance Logs does not replace your learning platform or your student information system. Teachers keep monitoring progress where they do today. Attendance Logs keeps the daily log and hands the minutes to your student system. It runs today with Genius and Infinite Campus, and other connections are set up during the pilot.
In production since 2023; founding-school pilot for new schools
It starts with a 30-minute discovery call. We ask how your school keeps its daily log today, which rostering and student systems you use, and where your clerk’s time goes, and you see the guardian email and the web app. If it looks like a fit, the pilot runs for one term. We measure your current weekly hours first, so you can see any change yourself, and we give your auditor a short description of the method to review.
Questions and answers
Does Arizona require a daily log for online students?
Yes. A.R.S. 15-808 requires each school selected for Arizona online instruction to ensure a daily log is maintained for every student in it. The log describes the amount of time the student spends on academic tasks. For grades 9–12, average daily membership is calculated by dividing the instructional hours in the log by 900.
Does offline work count?
The statute refers to time spent on academic tasks and does not mention screens. Your school’s policy decides what counts, and you should confirm it with your own auditor.
Does this replace our student information system or learning platform?
No. It keeps the daily log and delivers the minutes to your student system as a file.
What happens when a guardian does not respond?
The week stays at zero until a guardian approves it. Nothing is reported for it, and your school decides how it follows up with the family.
Are the hours really the student’s own?
The hours in the email are filled in at your school’s weekly goal before the guardian sees them, and the guardian approves them or corrects them. Whether a student is taking part in each course remains a decision for your teachers and staff in the learning platform. Attendance Logs does not measure screen time or academic progress, and we do not present the filled-in hours as proof of participation.
What about students who are 18?
Your school sets the policy on who approves the log for an adult student.
What does this mean for our budget?
We do not promise a funding figure. The pilot measures your current weekly hours first, and we cover pricing on the discovery call, before anything starts.
Will our auditor accept it?
Ask them first. We can give your auditor a short description of how the method works so they can tell you before the pilot begins whether they have any concerns.
